Tony Kushner's "Mother Courage and her children" premiered at The Delacorte Theater, New York, on 21 August 2006 and was revived at the National Theatre on 16 September 2009. It had it's first British production in the Olivier auditorium of the National Theatre, London, on 9 September 2009.

In this chronicle of the Thirty Years War, Mother Courage follows the armies back and forth across Europe, selling provisions and liquor from her canteen wagon. One by one she loses her children, but she will not part with her wagon.
